Our team are experts dedicated to helping businesses and individuals find insurance plans that are custom fit to their needs. We are independent brokers who work with all of the major carriers.
Health & Benefits Partners, in East Norriton, PA, is looking to hire someone to service our individual accounts of people who have bought health insurance for themselves from us and to sell inbound sales leads we get the same.
Role summary: The person hired for this role will be given a book of existing business of several hundred individual health insurance accounts and be responsible for servicing them, maintaining them and renewing them as well. Part of the role will also be to handle a modest amount of new leads (roughly 10 per month) that may be referred to us for buying individual health insurance from our group customers, from the exchange, and from other means. For that part of the job, you will collect their information and provide them quotes for insurance and take them through the sales process. This is not an outgoing sales role where you have to get new business as a hunter.
Who the role fits: This could be the right hands-on role for you, if you ideally have health insurance related experience (although this is not required), you have account service experience in some role handling customers and orders and communicated with clients, you want to learn more about health insurance, you have a consultative style and you are looking for a hybrid role. To be hired, an insurance license is a plus but not required. We are happy to, support you, train you and pay for you to get licensed within the first 3-6 months of employment.
Areas of Responsibility: (Roughly 80% of your time will be spent maintaining our current book of individual accounts and roughly 20% will be handling new, incoming lead referrals.)
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Provide support to individuals who get their insurance through us by phone or email.
Research insurance customer questions and problems directly with the carriers by phone and email.
Handle periodic (1 - 5 a month, roughly) in person individual insurance in-person meetings at the office.
Collect information from incoming prospects to quote insurance for them.
Educate and assist them with their critical health insurance needs.
Get insurance quotes for individuals by using Pennie, Independence Blue Cross and other portals.
Use Salesforce CRM to track all of your efforts and accounts’ information.
Add customers to their new insurance via web portals.
This is not an outbound hunter sales role and you do not need to make cold calls.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years professional account service experience or customer service office experience.
Experience communicating with customers by email. (Roughly half of your client and prospect communication will be by email and roughly half by phone.)
Experience supporting customers by phone. (You may receive roughly 5-10 calls per day.)
Ability to listen to customers and make them feel heard.
Ability to gather all needed information from prospects and customers thoroughly.
Extreme attention to details.
Nice to Have Skills, Experience & Education:
Experience in the healthcare insurance industry would be helpful.
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Diligence and a desire to learning quickly in a challenging and fast paced environment.
Software Skills Required:
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Teams for internal chat
Experience with Zoom video
Software Skills Nice to have:
Have used Pennie or insurance carrier websites for quoting and adding customers.
